How would it feel to have a safe place to develop your voice, reflect on your writing, and capture your best
ideas and inspirations?
When I started blogging and article writing in 2012, I was unsure of my voice and myself. I knew I wanted to write, but the process felt laborious, even on the best of days.
I would hear writers talk about sessions marked by fluidity + flow, where time whizzed by and the words eased out onto the page. I wondered what I was doing wrong. I was experiencing the opposite. I would sit and stare at the screen, woefully willing my fingers to move. I knew what I wanted to say. Sometimes. But getting it out never came easy.
Still, I kept writing.
And I’m glad I did.
Over time, I’ve built up daily habits that sustain my writing and feed my soul. The cornerstone of these habits is my Writer’s Journal. Now I want to share it with you.
The journal is designed for bloggers, authors, article writers, and anyone else who wants to build and sustain a productive writing practice.
What’s in the journal?
Get clear on your writing project goals, resources, and timelines. It’s not enough to want to ‘write a book’ or ‘publish an eCourse’. This section gives you the space and basic structure for laying out a plan to reach your goal.
PART 2 PROMPTS + QUOTES
Get inspired. Here you’ll find alternating prompts and inspiring writing quotes. The writing prompts are designed to give you a nudge of inspiration and get your creative mind warmed up. If you want to write, but aren’t sure what to write about, use the prompts to get you started.
Here are samples of prompts and quotes you’ll find in the journal:
PROMPT: I want the world to know that…………
PROMPT: When was the last time you met a daily writing goal earlier than expected? Why do you think you were successful on that day? How can you repeat that? Can you think of any factors that contributed to it (ex. a solid outline or peaceful environment or restful sleep the prior night, etc.)
PROMPT: What would be your ideal day? Describe it from dusk till dawn. Let your imagination run wild, without thinking of any limits.
QUOTE: “You can’t wait for inspiration, you have to go after it with a club.” -Jack London
QUOTE: “Tears are words that need to be written.” -Paulo Coelho
