SHE Syndrome
Women entrepreneurs often suffer from SuperHero Entrepreneur (SHE) Syndrome. It’s the tendency to do everything, be everything, and not ask for help in our businesses.
The term is a jumble of words I strung together, but the roots of the concept are not new. You can find other people talking about the concept in some form. But mostly people talk about it happening to both men and women. I specifically talk about women and this nefarious issue because we (women) tend to do all things, be all things, and not ask for help. This is global, and we do it in many areas of our lives.
I believe: this is harming our businesses, but more importantly our lives. It causes serious stress-related issues that flare up throughout other areas of our lives and it leads to burnout.
Along with this concept, I believe the antidote to SHE Syndrome is a village mentality. Borrowing from the concept ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, I believe it takes a village to build a business. WE thrive best when we have supportive networks, people we can lean on, and a community to plug into as needed.

Ethical /Non-Sleazy Marketing
Did you know most mainstream marketing is rooted in manipulation and oppression?
People often push back and say ‘well, it works‘. Countless studies show there are other, more ethical ways to market that also work. If you just want to make money, and don’t care how it’s done, this topic isn’t for you (and I’m probably not for you either).
I believe: how we market ourselves is a direct reflection of our values.
