When I’m feeling overloaded and losing perspective and joy around my creative life, I often seek nature. Sometimes I can plan a getaway like a weekend camping or hiking trip, other times I just need to find a garden or park. I take off my shoes, feel the earth under my feet and the sun on my skin. I drink up the smell of wet soil and fallen leaves. And somehow my creative well slowly starts filling again. Nature is an immense source of creative inspiration.

I want to share that with you. This week’s midweek magic theme is nature.

If you can’t go outside right now, here are a few videos featuring nature in all its beauty.

“One of the most beautiful things about this garden is that you can arrive and suddenly as adults, we’re thrown back to being children again.”

Great Gardens: Great Gardens: Las Pozas, Mexico

Australia; a birds-eye-view. Literally. Spectacular!

“A journey across Australia from an eagle’s eye. Featuring animals and landscapes from the deserts to the ocean, including The Kimberley, Arnhem Land, The Pilbara, Cairns to Cape York and a handful of Western Australian Deserts.”

Another great video from the Feynman Series: Nature of Nature

May the rest of your week be filled with magical moments. Look for them!

Writing for love and money
Both take courage

I write for love (of the craft)

I write for money (my writing work makes up a chunk of my income)

A couple of times a month, I send out an email with a personal story and a lesson on writing for love and writing for money, and the courage it takes to do both.

You should sign up (of course, I'm only slightly biased).

I'm a writer and storyteller currently living in London and juggling multiple creative projects. I’d like to say that it's always easy, but the truth is there are times when things get messy. Still, it's the life I've chosen, and I love it. My intention is to keep my projects spinning and stay true to my voice.
